just had the news that i've got my first real problem with the chimp.basically i've got a leak from the pas rack it's hard to explain where ,but it's coming from the top of the cast part on the right (as you are facing the front under the car) does this require a new/recon rack or can some parts be repaired? has anyone had any experience with prices etc???? and from whom?? many thanks in advance for any help.
It might be a simple pipe leak. If not then it is a reack replacement. New ones are around 750 pnds so recons are becoming quite common. Most TVR dealers and specialists should be able to help with this.

I had exactly the same problem with mine and if it coming from where I think it is you will need a new rack , basically if you are looking down onto the rack from above facing forward there is a small oval plate on the top of the rack just to the right of that there is a small machined hole , they generally dispose of the fluid through this , this hole is a safety valve so that if a seal or component fails within the rack any extra pressure is released through here which is generally your PAS fluid. Steve is right , a new rack is £750 , it does not interchange with any Ford model or the like , it is a TVR unit , I had mine rebuilt at a cost of £140 , this seems like the best option , look in your Yellow Pages for someone who re-cons racks and give them a bell .
