Steering Wheel won't come off !!!!
Discussion
Okay, I need some help please!
I have just got my new boss for my momo steering wheel but the other one just won't come off, I have undone the centre bolt and it won't budge, Is there any other bits or bolts that I should be aware of?
If not, has anyone got any tips on how to get the ******* thing off?

You can get one from RS Components, quite expensive though, or i'm sure i've got one lying about some where. Where do you live?

A three legged puller is not a deformed girl in a nightclub !
It is a metal boss with three hooked legs which has a threaded rod through the centre. The principle is that you hook the legs behind the flanges on the boss, and the end of the threaded rod butts against the end of the steering column. By tightening the threaded rod against the end of the column it pulls on the flange, and should pull it off the splines. It is not the easiest thing to explain as you may guess.
A decent tool store or halfords should sell you one for about 20 quid, but any local garage should be able to do it for you in five minutes, which unless you desire ownership of one is probably cheapest.
Good luck - I'm off for an Indian, so can help no more!

The wheel is fixed on a tapered spline and the wheel to be rocked off it. Undo the nut but do not remove it completely. It needs to stay on so that when the wheel does come off you don't hit yourself in the face and end up in casualty. Sit in the drivers seat, grip the wheel with both hands and start pulling and rocking. It may take 5 to 10 minutes to free it. Dont be tempted to hit the nut from the front as there is an impact cruschable washer in the steering column and this may get damaged.
A three-legged puller is likely to damage the wheel/boss as the legs can dig into the metal work. Not really recommended as a result.
