Just thought you all might like to know, Ive just fitted EBC green stuff brake pads to my chimp 4.0l 95 'N' (front EBC code DP 2617 rear DP 2415). They have made 20%+ difference to the stopping power!!! Well impressed, all I need now is velcro for the seats.
My car's got partly worn discs and generally good system all round but what a difference and only 70 quid for all. Recomended for road and track.
More usefull info for you all

Have you got them good and hot yet? I find that well past the point normal 'fast road' pads like M1144s and Tarox XF would be starting to fade, the EBC Greens are still getting grippier and grippier. Extremely reassuring on the track, as long as you remember never to put them on the back unless you have them on the front.

But there are some disadvantages - I find that while the pad wear rate is relatively low, the disc wear rate is extremely high, and the discs wear almost as fast as the pads.

Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

Mmmm. disc wear a concern, mind you only about £15 a disc (std rs ford stuff) and I dont do many miles, track days hav'nt entered into life yet, just found them to be so better than originals that had to tell someone. If I get probs I will print.

Switched to them on the 520 and have immediately started cracking disks. The first was aided and abetted by a hose failure but the second set have gone the same way and that is within a few months. They claim to be disc friendly - my interpretation is that means EBC want you to buy lots of discs! The jury is still out in my case.

A bit peripheral but I have used EBC HH rated pads (not sure if these are a similar formulation but it is perhaps likely) for a while on various bikes and found them to be very effective but also very hard on discs...apart from wear and heat transfer problems, there have also been corrosion issues when bikes have been left damp. Pads have literally welded themselves to disc surfaces resulting in pitting and surface damage upon separation. Maybe this is just a cost of the higher friction effect and is not necessarily a criticism, but it is a factor to be aware of.
