I have just purchased a bright yellow (need sunglasses just to drive) 97/P chim 4.0L, my first TVR... I love it...

Just completed a 300 mile round trip to Nottingham from Berks, no problems at all however I only got about 230 miles to a tank of unleaaded is this about average for motorway driving (80-90mph)??

hey! just got my first one yesterday L chim400 - its amazing isnt it? hardest thing so far for me is that its been so wet this w/end so i still havent 'tried it out'...saying that, its probably better to get used to it like this rather than just assume that it will always handle like (i hope) it does in the dry!
joined the tvrcc yet?

Congratulations , we bought one a couple of months ago and still argue who's going to drive home from the pub!! It's great to be able to fly low instead of driving along!!!

230 miles from a tank on a Motorway sounds about right. There was a thread on the Griffith board Fuel Mileage. A different car I know but 'interesting' reading. I think the consensus was, reset your trip meter and refill the tank after 200 miles to be on the safe side.

Happy low flying!

Congrats! Yep, 230 is about right on a trip.

Enjoy it, and find some BIG roundabouts and long not very high tunnels and you will never drive anything else again!

Jon, glad you're happy with her! I know I was!
I used to get around 250 miles from a tank on motor way driving and once got 300 when taking it very easy!
Let me know if you go to a TVRCC meet and I may drive down and see you?
Cheers....... Andrew

Brilliant!! - Well done and great to hear that you are enjoying it so much.
Went out with my brother on Saturday night to show him my TVR for the first time - he loved it and especially when a Fiat Uno pulled alongside at a set of lights and tried to burn us off!!! The noise from my V8 was wonderful and the Uno sounded like a sewing machine - I thought it was going to explode!! We did laugh... Fiat Uno can you believe it??!! My brother said it was the most gorgeous car he has ever seen or heard!!

All the best

The Mrs took mine to Asda the other sunday morning. She was on her way back home and this fella in a Mondeo diesel estate pulls up next to her at the lights, sees its a woman driving and starts revving the engine like its the starting grid. Needless to say she gave it a bit, he became a spot in the mirror, job done!

I was once raced off the lights by a Fiat Chinqi Sporting. I could have overtaken him using my starter motor!

I too had a similar session with one of those Suzuki Wagen R things, you know the the ones that look really tall and skinny. What I found most amusing was that my brake discs looked bigger then his wheels!

What a response...

I have a tunnel in mind underneath the Heathrow runway (going from the M4 spur) nearly a mile long of sheer purring, awesome

My only encounter so far has been a new WRX STI on the M1...Looser....
