Having recently bought my Chimaera,('96N) I am wondering if the light switches for the side/headlights should be illuminated at night? I have a green warning light when the side lights are switched on but nothing to light up the switch location. Am I lacking dash bulbs??

I don't think you are missing any lights. Mine doesn't have switch illumination either (also a 96N).
Both sidelights and headlamps have indication lights to show when they are turned on, but nothing to show you where the switch is.

Nope, they are just solid black plastic buttons. You'll soon get used to finding them.

Enjoy.

You could swap them for metal ones from Zertec or Leven. Looks a little better (personal opinion) but also a little easier to see in dim light - though little difference when there is NO light.

Recently had the dash off to check contacts and I dont believe that you could put a light behind anyway. The switch is fairly large and the aperture for the button is smaller than the switch body - therefore couldnt really put a light behind to shine through. Nice idea, but its just one of those "features".

Cheers,

Paul

Mine obviously has original black plastic switches which aren't illuminated. However, did someone say there should be a light indicator for both the sidelights and headlights? I have one for sides but not a further one for the headlights.

No, there should only be another light when you put full beam on

I have a 94L. Ditto the switches - a small light abovebut the switch itsef does not light up. Shouldn't be too hard to arrange something in the switch replacement field if you need to know where it is - I find mine by trial and error in the dark (or wait until i go past a lamp post
