Anyone,

Got around to looking into the "windscreen wipers not parking" and "no intermittent wipe" problem on my early Chimaera 4.0. Well, replacement of a couple of fuses (seemed blown) and plugging a relay back in and it works again! Hurrah...

However (dont you just hate it when someone adds that!), noticed that when putting the brakes on the side lights come on also!!?!?! Booo..

Ran out of light and heat (it is getting awfully cold out there) so I have left it for the moment. But, has anyone got any ideas on this? Suspect that it is a fuse / relay / loose connection. But not sure as where to look. Any clues? Did notice this some time ago as when you put your foot on the brake the side light internal light comes on (you know the one, its under the button for the light) - strange I though but dismissed it. Only when checking out stuff in the dark did it become apparrent....

Ideas and hints please.... thanks in advance.

Oh, and one final thought of the day - the Leven Technology hood cover is excellent. However, if you have an early Chimaera with the door locks, the cover doesnt protect them. Being upwards facing they freeze over at the slightest frost. Plenty of anti-freeze (or Austrian wine) needed.... A small pain, but one that later owners dont have to contend with.

Cheers,

Paul

P.S. Oh, and dont let your wife wash your car keys either! Strangely the key fob blipper doesnt work then! Luckily I have a lock that I can arm, disarm and unlock the car from - with out this I would be stuffed... Any suggestions on where to get a replacement from?

Could well be a poor earth for the brake lights causing them to back-feed through the side light circuit. I'd check out the earths in both rear light clusters if I were you.
