Tyre Chain or Spikes-Spider on a Chimaera ?

Has anyone some experience trying to use tyre chains or spikes-spider on a Chimaera ? There is only half an inch behind the left rear wheel between the wheel and the inner wing so Spikes-spider or chain shops tells me it is not possible ti fit something.

i have never run spiked tyres myself but know a lot of people who do , they are very very noisey , try some Michellin winter tyres i have them on my golf and they are really very good in the ice and snow.

I'd not recommend using them on a Chim. I've heard some bad things about them on TVRs, and I think it says you shouldn't use them in the owner's manual... can't remember though.
