Hi everyone, happy new year to you all!!!!
Right, has anyone out there had a Clifford Alarm with remote engine start fitted to their chimps?
I really want this done but due to the fact that they tear your car apart to fit the bloody things I would like to find a Clifford Alarm Fitters that has already done one so that they know what they are doing! Any info would be greatly appreciated Cheers.

Is this so you can give rubber-neckers brown trousers without being in the car??

The only places I'd let pull a TVR apart are SQ Plus in Manchester (www.sqplus.com) or Prestige Audio in Harrow (www.Prestige-Audio.co.uk) as they have probably fitted more Cliffords to more cars than anyone else - SQ Plus did mine (BMW) and they job is perfect - Their service is well worth paying for...

I know both owners personally and they really are the best in the business....

I'm having a Toad fitted to mine next weekend. The guys at Sound & ????? in Thatcham told me that they have had a few Clifords back due to problems. They have also done TVRs and had problems (all to do with the internal door knob) so they know the score.

Don't do it. i had a concept 300x fitted to my Griffith 500 and it went back about 30 times, had it refitted 5 times. 2 different alarm specialists and Cliffird couldnt figure out why, eventually came to conclusion that due to the fibreglass it wasnt getting a good earth. The alarm went off the whole time, locked me out, locked me in!!

I had a new alarm fitted, no problem.

I now have the same alarm and autostart fitted to my Ferrari and no problems at all.

Its a great idea but doesnt seem to like TVR's for some reason.

Sorry

I'm getting my Chim on friday (hopefully) and looking at aftermarket alarms. Any recommendations in the area of £400 fitted?

Any fitter recommendations in the sheffield/chesterfield area?

The subject of Cliffords in TVRs came up when I was over at Hawthorns last Saturday. Jamie was very dismissive of Clifford alarm systems, saying they've had no end of problems with them.

I can't vouch for this info; I'm just reporting what he said.

Hawthorns are ten miles up the road from a Meta outfit from whom they seem to get good service which may be why they're partisan. Suits me though as my Meta effort seems to have packed up and Hawthorns reckon they can get it sorted or replaced within a couple od days.

tread with caution - the dealer i got my chimp from showed my the official installed clifford alarm after they had spent months sorting out problems - paraphrasing, but something was said about the main alarm unit being the prob with tivs; that they have a potential weak spot in certain positions meaning a corner of the unit can melt off and your neighbours will hate you even more than they do already..... now there's a thought....mind you, they dont know i've got my eyes on a speed six..

Trouble is a couple of Hawthorns days can be anything up to a couple of weeks in our reality.
Bit like TVR horsepower really.
