No doubt this has come up before at some point..I just haven't found it! Anyway,I have noticed that my boot is almost permanently wet above the wheel arches (ie on either side). I imagine the water is coming off the wheels themselves, but don't know if this is something to be concerned about or not...? On a general note, I only found this site yesterday and it's somewhat of a relief to discover that virtually every little glitch I have found on my motor has been experienced by almost everyone else! Have learnt more in one hour on here that I have in 5 months of owning the car.

It is probably coming in from the boot. Check the seal, the gaps that allow the water to flow away are not blocked as this can force the water over the seal. And anything that goes through the body is watertight e.g. the hinge and stay bolts. A bit of silicone sealent may be needed.

And that's the great thing about this site. It is a must for any TVR owner IMO. And even those without

Don't know whether this helps but in my V8S boot there are two rubber pipes that drain the water from the boot lid sill drain holes (visable when you open the boot lid) onto the road. These are two pipes connected together that if disconnected, will empty the draining water straight into the boot. Simply reconnecting the pipes together in the boot to fix this. Apologies if the Chimera doesn't have this setup!

If your car is brand new then get it back to the dealer to sort out before the boot starts to ming

If secondhand and you bought it off a dealer ask them to have a look at it from underneath as well as the top seal areas, it's a hand made car so it could possibly be from anywhere.

Get it looked at now before you require a new boot carpet due to the smell.
