Went to look at a 4.3 when I was looking for a Chimaera.. Didn`t have much on the performance to warrant the extra price the guy wanted for the 'rarity' value of it..
I got a 4.0 which is damn fast enuff to start with.. Still gives me the odd brown trouser moment..
With regards to the price of the one you are looking at, take a look at the Top Marques website to compare prices..
Also need to know if it has a good stereo, good service history, is in fine condition inside and out, and has a decent colour combo (some of them are tasteless IMHO)

I have a 4.3 and it's a fine car. But then I would say that.
The 4.3 was only produced for a couple of years. I posted a similar question when I bought my car a year ago. The answer seemed to be that with the introduction of the 5 ltr it made more sense to produce a 4.5 as an intermediate model - simple as that.
Most of the 4.3's i see are not priced at a premium to 4 ltr's.
I have a price list from Jan 94. It says that list inc VAT on a 4ltr is 26,720 a 4.3 is 29,302.50. I would think that if you can get a 4.3 for a similar price to a 4.0 it makes sense.
I must hold my hands up and admit that I haven't driven a 4.0 ltr, so can't make a performance comparisson. In terms of driveability - I found it difficult at first to drive the car smoothly in traffic at low speed, but I'm getting better.
