Unfortunately I may be forced to sell my Chimaera in the spring/summer depending on which is best for an extra grand or so!

I was wondering what you think I should ask for it and when would be the best time to put it up for sale. I am assuming that on here and in Top Marques would be the best places to advertise it.

98R, 4.5 litre
18,000 miles
Pearlescent paint
Full black hide with red stitching
Alpine stereo with extra speakers
All switchgear is aluminium
Gold badges
FTVRSH

I will get it serviced before selling and the tyres are OK.

Any advice or info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sandy.

Sandy,
I may be interested in the spring as that'll be when I want to buy one so perhaps I'm not the best person to ask about the value!! (10k tops!)

What colour is it?

It's worth £2.50 but I would be willing to stretch to £3 for it

Your best bet is to look the prices when you come to sell it, if you look at the highest and lowest for your year/condition then price about mid way. If you put it up in spring then you’ll have summer as well to sell it.

Aren't I stating the obvious but why don't you ask the dealer what price he'd give you then add a couple of grand on for a private sale!
So many questions on here could be far more easily answered by people talking to their dealers.....

Perhaps not. My local dealer told me when I was having problems in removing my battery, to destroy the battery box. Presumably with a lump hammer. Suffice it to say I worked out a less destructive method. They also told me that there was no such colour as Cureton Green. The information on these forums are an invaluable source of information, given freely by enthusiasts who have learnt from experience. IMO franchised dealers are only in it for the money and often large sums thereof. They do not part with the information we need freely.

I have to say that I have contacted a couple of dealers for info and the ones I have contacted have provided advice FOC. I have also called the factory a couple of times and again, the guys in there give sound advice (if you can hear it over the radio )
