Brake Lights

Well, another new problem!! Was advised the other day that one of my brake lights was out. Simple fix I thought!! If only! Discovered on replacing the bulb that the drivers side cluster is fine, ie 5W element lights with light switch and 21W element lights with brake pedal. Fine. But passenger side, 21W element lights with light switch, and nothing happens on pressing the brake pedal! Afraid this one's got me scratching my head. Anybody else had the same problem? Checked the handbook (fuses) and the brake lights are on the same fuse as the wiper park unit. My wipers do have a mind of their own so this is my next check. But surely this would knock out both brake lights?!? Anyway, any ideas please shout!

Could be as simple as the bulb being inserted the wrong way round and the 5w side blown. Did you replace the bulb as if you have forget my comments.

Thanks for the suggestion. Problem solved!! I hadn't realised earlier that the bulb could go in more than one way! Ahh well...it's the simple things.....you live and learn!
