Dream Machinea are listed as a main dealer on the TVR website. Their servicing prices seem pretty good but has anyone had any experience of getting their TVR serviced there?

Test drove a car there late Summer, but it looked like they had only just opened. Would be interested to get any feedback on them as it would be nice to have my Chim serviced locally.

Had my 4.0l chim serviced (25k) by DM a couple of weeks ago. The Bill came to around £500 which included its first MOT - far cheaper than other services I have had.
I like the set up at DM - family run business, seemingly very knowledgeable and very friendly. I certainly intend to use them going forward

Sounds like they are good then ... is it a new dealer?

I am quite confused by services, my local dealers range between £300 and £600 for a service. They both quote more or less the same labour rate, but the one I use (the more expensive) guarantee to do the recommended service. if you add up the hours required then £600 is reasonable.

Perhaps I am missing something but it seems that dealers are allowed to vary the work they do for a standard service - beware.

I'm pretty sure you'll find there is a TVR checklist that sets out what each of the three types of services entails. No doubt there is more work you could do at a service, but you couldn't consider your car properly maintained if they did any less than the checks and replacements that are listed.

ATG - thats the point I was trying to make - how come some dealers can do the service in one third the time TVR recommend? ... makes you wonder if they bother at all...

If you go to Henley's web site (not sure of the URL but you can get there from the dealers page of the official site), there's a page on servicing which shows all the things that they do at each kind of service, 6k, 12k, etc. Quite a checklist – you can always print this out then check with the non-franchised guys to see what they call a 6k or 12k service?!
