Hi there all, having looked several times through the wonderful handbook - can anyone help me work out the best way of checking oil levels in gearbox?

Undo the top-up plug and stick a piece of coat hanger or similar stiff stuff in the hole and check the level. The best thing is to is to try and top it up with gearbox oil, it will probably only take a samll amount before it dribbles out, then it is at the correct level, do all of this on level ground. Which is hard as you need to be flat stanley to be able to get underneath.

What gearbox do you have? My V8S has the Vitesse/LT77 box with a filler half way up on the near side. But I expect others will vary.

Cheers,
