Whoever commented that TVRs were designed to be put together in a certain order and never taken apart again was right. Just had my dashboard top off and bugger me if it wasn't the most awkard damn job I've ever attempted.

Needed to araldite a bit of split veneer back in place on the dash itself - it split sometime during my ownership of the vehicle, and I'd never had the thing apart and the only other place that could have happened is... well.

While I was at it though I had a chance to velcro down all the loose flappy boxes of electronics in the dash, so I guess that should cut down on any rattles and possibly stop the alarm control unit shaking itself to pieces.

Should have got someone to take a photo of me with my legs sticking out of the window as I lay on my back with my head in the passenger footwell, trying to get the 10mm nut back onto the invisible and inaccessible upside down thread that holds the dashtop in place on that side. Helpfully, only one bolt of two was present... obviously someone decided in the past that the other one was just too much of a pain to get on. Hrrrmpf.

Tip. If you're taking your car apart, have a 10 year old on hand to put it back together again.

Ah, you see they are called "hand built". Therefore you can only use your hands.... none of this automated construction robot lark - all by hand and stuff the person that needs to get to that part again.... Or is that why it is done - guaranteed business to the dealers.... Mmmmm, makes you think.

Cheers,

Paul
