what wiper motor
Discussion
Since having my chimaera, its suffered with the normal issue over no intermittent wipe and not returning o the park position when normal wipe is turned off.
So i ordered a new park sensor and that didnt cure it, i tried a new wiper arm today and that didnt do it, so unless i have done something wrong on the fitting of the sensor, which i dont think i have, as there seemed to be little i could do wrong, then i think it only leaves the motor itself at fault
Has anyone had this problem before? and what car is the wiper motor off?

That's not a motor problem. Failure to park can only be a problem with the park switch itself, the dooberry in the gear box that activates the switch or the wiring. I'd styart by double checking the park switch is properly located, its plug contacts are all clean and that the connector that plugs into it hasn't been damaged. Then into the gear box as Dave suggests.
Fitting the park switch whilst the cam on the bottom of the gear is still in the park position can break the park switch...you must bring the arms to the upright position on the screen before you start work, by turning the igntion off with the arms in mid wipe. The motor is special to TVR and I have bought the stock to remanufacture them. Adrian@

Never realized that AV.. I must admit I find it easier to 'pull' the motor once you have found out how to get the gear cover off, and since there is so much damned water in that area a good clean & grease just seemed the right thing to do

Right, i didnt place the arms in upright (12oclock) so maybe worth a try.
trawling the net now, i found a parts list on parkersteve that say the motor is from a triumph spitfire, is this not right ?
will refit the sensor tomorrow in the hope that does it
thanks for the tips guys
The Truimph runs a 14 watt motor as does the mini (the other webcrap infomation) I would if you are removing the park switch test it by running the system whilst the park switch is laying next to the motor, as, at any time you press the pin on the back of the park switch the wipers will stop, I do sell the park switch 6.99 plus P&P.trawling the net now, i found a parts list on parkersteve that say the motor is from a triumph spitfire, is this not right ?

As for the motor, thinking about it yes, it cant be that i guess. so it has to be the sensor i fitted, will look tomorrow again
thanks all

Kinda on subject, but slightly off.....what wiper arm does the Chim use? One of ours is trying to impersonate a well-used hooker......
....it's very slack and makes alot of noise. Pin's gone!
Cheers

Apologise? Mate, if you accidently managed to stumble across an argument about the appropriate motor for the windscreen wiper in a bleeding TVR, I think you deserve a bloody prize!
right, update
took the sensor off, and laid it ext to motor as said, and nothing changed, nothing on intermittent, and when on full, nothing happened when i pressed the pin in.
Checked fuse in the footwell, and that was fine, BUT on my hand book, there is supposed to be a relay or timmer in with the fuses, but i have nothing in the space mine should be. where do i get one of these, and is there a part umber etc?
wipers are truly doing my head in now

Its a vauxhall part, quite a few in scrapyards, but if you dont know what you are looking for it is probably best to get one from a TVR dealer.
Do a search on here for permutations of 'intermittent wiper relay timer' we have posted them before, or have a look in the Griffpages or Chimpages they are supposed to be a reference for this kind of question.
