Sports exhaust for Chimaera

Looking to put a sports exhaust on my Chim 450. Anyone tell me the benefits (noise I guess...!) or negatives and likely cost. Is there a particularly good one to buy, and is it a straightforward dealer fit? New to TVR ownership, so sorry if you've seen this question before!
I ot mine from Zertec -- not the cheapest but sounds fab and looks the DB.

RCT,
The job was done by a TVR specialist, by fitting a 3-qtr sleeve within the exhaust system, and that's the extent of my comprehension, I will admit. It does sound superb and it was fitted for around £100. I opted for the 3-qtr, as I thought the full exhaust was a bit OTT for me...but it does the business, it sounds *luvvly* and really turns heads!
Went for that chilling blast, too, and going for another tomorrow
Madness is assumed

Sounds like agood move (can never be too loud..surely)
Depends. If you want to go play on tracks then leave the exhaust alone as you will struggle with noise regs even with add on silencers and so on. Also do not underestimate the tiring effect excessive noise can have on long journeys.
Some of the mods described will take the car upto 110-112 db at 3/4 throttle. A full through exhaust could easily hit 115+ With most tracks needing around 98-100 or 103-105 at best, you can forget any real fun on a track or airfield.
Just bear this in mind.
