Was there only a couple of weeks ago. Feels good doesn't it? In fact I can't think of a better way to spend a couple of grand!

Excellent decision - got my 500 4 weeks ago, here's what i've learned:

floormats out when you wash 1t (just in case)

2 hands to shut door - 1 at top of window, one where handle would be

double de clutch under bridges

it really does set of car alarms in underground carparks

do check oil and water weekly

get to know what is normal for your guages in different driving conds - mine wander all over depending on revs stationary etc

DONT trust the fuel guage - go off mileage

hold last corner of roof when it goes in the boot so dont chip paintwork

Front will get stone dings ( I have 4 so far)

Damned steady in the wet - bloody embarressing to spin at lights and have nova leave you for dead

when overtaking a q of traffic you will end up going a lot faster than you thought you would

wear sun glasses with roof off - and gloves in this weather!

the sun visors look naff with roof off - I'm going to get shut of them

even tho its new i have had loads of faults - nothing massive but it certainly wasn't built in Stuttgart - it also gets far more attention than our ayrian cousins and the sound never fails to thrill

50 - 85 in 3rd and 70 - 110 in 4th is awesome

ask anything however obscure here and someone will know the answer

BTW Matt (plotloss) if you have read this far would be really interested in your snag list - I know your 450 was new too, i'm a wee bit disappointed so much has gone wrong on mine

Yep I'd go along with all David says, especially the bit about car parks and it being tail happy!

As for niggles, well its refused to start once and been back to the dealer on an AA truck! All related to a loose air intake.

Its got a few rattles in the interior when it gets warm, nothing major, but slightly annoying. However I was disappointed at the time, and I did write to TVR Customer Service who couldnt even bother to respond at all and I thought that was awful to be honest.

The build and PDI when I got it wasnt the best but when it went back to the dealer they did sort everything and a few things that I didnt spot so all in all a good service I thought.

Its going back in on Monday for its 1000 mile check up, they have said that they will do everything that I list as build faults/run in problems so I am looking forward to a sorted motor and a little more in the rev range from Wednesday onwards!

However, even though its had a few minor issues the amount of car it is for the money, and the noise/speed etc I am more than pleased on the whole and can see myself being brand loyal for quite some time.

As for stone chips, I have four as well, and a nice little scratch where the sharp edge of the roof caught the boot, so be especially careful with that!

Matt.
