Folks,
I bought a 1999 4.0 Chimaera in September. A truly wonderful, wonderful car. The carpet in the driver's side footwell is absolutely soaking though. The passenger side is dry. Someone told me that "all TVRs leak in the footwell". Is this true?! Is it a common complaint and has anyone any suggestions as to what might be the causing the leak and how I can fix it?

Kind regards and many thanks!

its that time of year again but it prob is the sealant around the brake resevoir, take it out, clean it up, key in the edges with some fine sandpaper then mastic it back in, could have saved about £120 if i had done it myself, must try harder to fix things myself!!!!

Also worth moving the seats forward and feeling the carpet underneath/behind them. If the soft top isn't waterproofed properly water will collect under there. Since I paid a bit of attention to my Chim's w/proofing it has been bone dry even after being parked outside in torrential rain.

I'll second that. Dealer couldn't stop leaks and even accused me of not being able to raise the hood properly. Nice.

Then I found out about weatherproofing on here, and it's been almost bone dry since.

Judging by the state of the (magnolia, just say no) carpets, the previous owner didn't know about Fabsil or its ilk either. Sigh.
