Just to let you all know about my fixed mirror. For reference, I managed to break the three legged metal leg that holds the mirror to the fixing screw that goes into the door. Now fixed! Hurrah.

Well, in line with other manufacturers the mirror is a complete supply only and you cannot get the individual parts! Tried several TVR dealers and even Citroen ones - complete mirror only.

However, took it to a TVR dealer locally (Ok, it was Castle) and they managed to salvage the part from another mirror that they have from their body shop. Therefore no need for a complete mirror at £120+VAT but only a little more labour than normal - works out cheaper.

The moral of the story - see what can be salvaged from a body shop before parting with hard earned money for the new complete part. It does seem that a little knowledge can help us save money - see the thread about steering racks (reconditioned by a specialist rather than the new part!). Just thought that I would share that one just in case anyone else ends up in the same boat...

Cheers,

Paul
(P.S. Only need to fix the windscreen wipers now! Doh!)
