Yesterday, I encourage my good lady wife to drive our recently acquired Chimaera. No worries here, she's an excellent driver, however I wanted to see if the driving position could be OK. Alas not! A 6'3+ I am a tall-ish bugger, my wife is not small either but it seems the same setting cannot fit both of us. Basically, she needs to move the forward by so much that the driving position becomes rather unconfortable for her. Some of you guys must be facing the same problem... you creative lot would have found some clever way around this (other than doing all the driving myself ). Any recommendation gratefully received.

Cheers

Sounds like you need to adjust the pedals - if you look each pedal is on a thread. Undo the nut and wind the pedal in or out. Bit of a pain each time you want to swap drivers though. It's kept my girlfriend out of the driving seat for over 3 years

I wish TVR made electric pedal box adjusters like Marcos.

Yeah, same for me and wife - I am 6'5" but like the steering wheel quite close, and shes 5'4". Makes changing the setup in cars a nightmare. However, a little shuffle around with the peddles and we have got the perfect compromise. Simply have the seat forward for her and back for me....

Works nicely. I think it is a case of just adjusting them to get the best fit - but you can do it.

Cheers,

Paul

Considered a Chim or Elise upon return from honeymoon this summer. Went and drove both back to back at Hawthorns and loved em both for their own individual merits. However, just died for the sound of the TVR (always have done but 1st drive was pant moistening).

Imagine though, wife (5'4) next to me on test drive loving the acceleration, noise etc. How gutted was I then when she got in and couldnt reach the pedals properly - seat wouldnt go far nuff forward. I know pedals can be adjusted but just put her off as bad 1st experience (she did drive it but was really stretching).

Therefoe have been looking at elise but now thinkin may save hard for year and buy Chim which I can then keep rather than having to sell in a couple of years to pay off finance if family expands.

Very off point - also into concept of building own house so if anyone knows of any potential plots, renovations (character)or conversions in hampshire, surrey or berkshire (not big bucks - small 4 bed or 3 bed).
