Doesn't sound like you need much of a mechanic for these – the leak problem is just trial and error, there's plenty of threads on here about Chim leaks. Here's one idea: get the other half and a good pressure hose: you sit in the car while she lets rip at the car, probably a good idea to take the carpets out first though. Just takes you to keep your eyes on the move ready to spot that leak. Worth a try!

Any garage should be able to help you out with the exhaust thingy (even Kwik-Fit-type outfits aren't a bad bet)

Gowan,

When you do need a good TVR specialist in Berkshire I can recommend Thames Valley Racetech (previous Thames Racing Services) in Hurst just to the south of Reading.

Gowan,
I can recommend David Batty at The Garage in Compton just outside of Guildford. He is a proper mechanic not a 'fitter' and will endeavour to repair something rather than replace it. He understands TVR's and does an excellent job at a fair price. Give him a call on 01483-811995.

Isn't that paragraph virtually word-for-word identical to the recommendation on Adrian Blyth's website?

Yes - it is the same -paste/copy etc but the recommendation is the same - He is first class and honest with it.

Thanks

Neal.

I can recommend Thames Valley Racetech, too (0118-934-4449). Steve Howard is a good guy and has taken good care of my Chim when it has needed work
