Recently bought my first TVR a 1999 Chimarea 4.5L.
It's been excellent fun and very reliable, but has developed an intermitent problem with the speedo which flutters and reads 70 when I'm doing far less ( honestly).
It only seems to happen when the car is either very hot or cold.
Any ideas.

Mine started doing this and eventually needed repair.
Looking back through the cars history this seems to have been a recurring problem.
My car is on its third speedo. There are plenty of other threads on this matter and the consensus seems to be that they are simply not up to the job.

My 4.0L Chimaera had a similar problem, would show me travelling at around 165mph while being overtaken by vans etc!
Did it all the time though so may not be related to your problem but it was the sender thingy on the rear axle that needed adjusting.
BTW if your speedo does pack up there is a general rule of thumb (I'm told by my dealer) that in 4th gear on a flat throttle i.e. neither accelerating or decelerating - the rev counter matches the relevent position on the speedo, I tried it and it appears to match quite nicely.
