Bleedin' hell - Windscreen wipers

Anyone,
Well, to cap off the broken mirror problem (see "Oh nuts - that will teach me...") it seems that the windscreen wipers are on the blink!
Work fine on first and second speed, but intermitent wipe seems to have a problem! Doesnt seem to do anything anymore, and when you switch off the wipers on first or second speed they just stop where ever they are on the screen.
Nightmare - anyone any ideas on what could be the problem? Thought that it could be a loose connection with the switch (normal wipe works OK, so nothing wrong with the wiper connections). Or maybe a fuse / relay problem.
Suggestions would be welcome....please..?

Arghhh!!, not that problem.
I'm currently suffering from that gem too. A certain dealer changed the park switch but that has no affect.
Interestingly my wipers now park on the drivers side not the passenger (which I think is the norm).
I find that I have to keep 'blipping' the wipers to get them to park rather than obscure the windscreen.
Also the nuts / bolt that hold on the wiper motor seem to be x-threaded and there is shed load of play.
Help....

My old Chim used to do this,
After several parking switch replacements the dealer gave up and replaced the motor unit. - Job sorted!
Apparently it's all to do with water getting into the motor/switch casings and shorting out stuff. S'pose you could try taking it all apart and drying it out/resealing

The "parking switch" (in fact all the connections for the wiper motor) sit underneath the motor on a shelf, which collects water. Most of the time the connections are sitting in a puddle of salt water. This knackers them basically. I stripped mine down and when I opened up the plastic box underneath a blob of rust fell out which used to be the electrical connections.
I bodged mine up 2 years ago with a bit of connector block, and it's been like that ever since. One speed, no park facility! Must get round to fixing it properly some time - anyone have a part number? I'd rather not replace the whole wiper motor if I don't need to.
Needless to say some silicone sealant will be employed once I do get the new part!

I did notice that the actual plug + wiring was a bit knackered on mine. Does anyone know whether the plug (hopefull with a flying lead) can be bought anywhere (I assume it's just a standard lucas connector)
I'm convinced that since the wire is a bit bare in places + a bit of play on the motor mountings = intemittent connection.. just a hunch.
I think I'll whip it off at the weekend and have a ganders.... watch out for the "How do you put wiper motors back togther, thread next week"

I had a problem with the wipers doing funny things on intermittent and parking where they liked. As already mentioned it was suggested water ingress was the problem. Sprayed the plastic conector under the motor assembly with WD40, hey presto, job sorted. Give it a try before spending a shedload of cash.

I just had to post this ammendment!
I was out driving the other day and getting strange remarks from other drivers. Turns out my brake lights had gone - no big deal, check / change the fuse (no. 18, brake lights and wiper park). The old fuse was indeed mullered but also in changing the fuse, my wipers now park correctly (ie passenger side). A wee bit odd, but I'm keeping my eye on things in case there is something else wrong!!
In a similar note, does anyone know if you can replace the wiper motor mount bolts, since mine seem to be well and truely rounded, which means I've still got shed loads of play. Can they be replace or is it a case of tapping / dyeing them??
