I ripped a spoiler off and had it replaced. It's a cheap part and is held on by rivets, so the bill was cheap.
The blokes at Waldenway told me it makes a noticeable difference to a Chim's high speed stability.
I'm a little sceptical about the size of the cooling benefit. It can only have an effect on the airflow through the bonnet when the car is on the move, and I would guess the car would have to be moving pretty quickly. The fans only ever cut in when I am in stop-start traffic, and at these speeds I can't see there being any impact from the spoiler.

Stig,
Just re-fitted a new one today, since the last one was eaten by a speed hump.
£11 (plus vat) from TMS (dead helpful parts dept!!) www.tmstvr.co.uk. Took about 20 mins to fit, just made some small pilot holes then screwed it on with 3/4" self tappers.
Good luck
Steve

As I've posted before, I once had a Jaguar design engineer who specialises in cooling systems give my Chimaera the once over, while I was changing the rad for an alloy one.
His opinion was that the Chimaera suffers the opposite problem to most cars - you could get the hot air out, but you have trouble getting cold air in. He concluded that my (pre facelift model) Chimaera needed a spoiler just under the nose to create a low pressure area behind the radiator to suck cool air through. Other minor recommendation was to reduce the number plate size, or move it out of the way as much as possible, to allow more air in.
He had no knowledge of the spoiler fitted to later cars, and neither did I at the time.
I'd haven't fitted a spoiler to mine as the alloy rad had (more than) the desired effect (if anything I need a rad blind now to get the temp up!), but nonetheless it's good to know that TVR seem to know what they are doing at least some of the time!!

There is a piccy on my website - www.motion-lotion.co.uk.
Warning - the site is a bit of a mess right now, to be fixed in a day or two (moving house today/tomorrow (I wish Pickfords would close the front door as it's freezing in here!).
