Well folks, the beast has been picked up! At approximately 18:20 yesterday, I drove my Chim 500 from the dealers. It was dry, it was twilight, and I was so excited I nearly puked. Drove home really carefully, parked up at home, and after I'd shown about a million people the beast (including nearly everyone asking where the door handles were) I "nipped out" for a quick spin to the Lake District in the dark and got home about 00:15am.
Sad thing is, when I got home I sat in it for about 15 minutes in mi garage.
Top car, top fun. Squze the childlike msg! :-))

Spook, I assume you didn't sit in it for 15 minutes cause the central locking had failed ?

Absolutely.

The process appeared to be, fear followed by indecision, followed by derision, followed by immediate purchase.

Ha ha, naw the central locking was fine! And Chingie... lol... honest, me indecision was more insecurity. Like I said, it's embarrassing enough being 32 and only knowing how to perform a minor service, never mind if me bushes caught on fire (owch!) or me wishbone stuck in mi throat!!!

PS - I can see mi car from here!

Spooky,

for the next month you'll go into garage for a peep just before you go to bed.

Buy plenty of shampoo and polish 'cause you won't be able resist giving it a shine mid week as well as the weekends.

Sad stuff, I've been there, still am. Great car!!

Spook!

Well done. I've had my Griff for 8 mths now, and I still occasionally open the garage just to look at it. Sometimes I still can't believe its mine.

I'm getting worse: Used a full film in me camera since Tuesday. I even took some internal shots of the steering wheel and fascia! Call me eternally sad, but hey, humour me - I'm chuffed!

Had mine a week and the radiator's sprung a leak
( should get it back this evening), so I vote for a cooling system problem!

No probs so far! Done about 550 miles in five days. Been stuck in traffic jams without overheating, done just about 120mph last night on a quiet patch of M61, filled up with fuel tonight and grooved up and down the East Lancs. Only problem I've had is a bloody moggy must've slept on the bonnet and left paw prints on it. Have to clean it tomorrow (any excuse, eh?!!). Just gonna have a brandy now before I say goodnight to it. 'Til tomorrow! Life's good. For now.

Thank god they choose to sleep on the (nice warm) bonnet. Getting fur out of the roof is a complete arse.

And I love my cats, but if they ever showed signs of digging claws into soft bits of roof...

funny how many Tivvers are into moggies too, the best way to get fur off your roof is to use masking tape or sellotape...lifts it off a treat

My cats come out to greet me on the drive as they know its me cause of the noise - they keep far enough away not to get squished as I reverse in!!
