My windscreen wipers are seriously up the spout. when on intermittent they have no consistantcy and dont turn off for ages, which is really annoying as i only want them to wipe once not 20 times. I know of the adjustment on the steering column but this normally just makes it worse. Has anyone else had this problem?

Recently had a similar problem with the wipers doing their own thing on intermittent. There's a thread somewhere. Anyway, it was suggest the problem was caused by moisture in the electrics and a good spray with WD40 on the motor connection (nearside, under the motor) would solve it. And it did.

My intermittent setting dial doesn't do anything either, mind you the wipers park to the right some of the time and smack in the middle occasionally! I'll get some WD40 on the connections tonight, but any tips specifically on the wiper parking gizmo?

Either dry out the switch entirely then cover with some sort of goo -- sealant or somesuch -- or get someone to do it for you. Voila! The problem disappears forever.

Otherwise you're into a 'dry it, spray it, wait for wipers to pack up' cycle every time it rains...

Been there.

WD40 solved the parking problem for me. But expect it might reappear when the effect wears off.

Had the same problem with my wipers on intermittant. The easiest fix (except perhaps WD40) is to get a new park switch (around £2, I think) located on top of the wiper motor under the bonnet.

Hmm, I've a similar problem on mine. When you just 'blip' the wipers, they don't home properly (ie half-way across the windscreen).

Work fine on intermitant and normal. Would suggest a motor/gearing problem??

I'm gonna give then the WD40 trick to see if that cures it.
