Aluminium door buttons

Anyone converted the key type door locks to the all aluminium type('95- onwards). I've bought the aluminium 'blanks' from TVR, they fit in the lock mechanism but don't operate the plunger. Any ideas? Also, anyone solved the problem of the drivers carpet curling up? I've tried velco strips, but it separates after a while.
