I want to get my Chimaera off the ground to do some touching up of the chasis and suspension. Can somebody tell me were to jack and were to prop the car?

Jack up on the main square section tubes that run the length of the car (one either side of the transmission). Avoid jacking up on the outriggers and don't forget to use axle stands! I found it best to jack up one side of the car at a time to do the chassis work (didn't have enough room or axle stands to lift the car up in one go). Nick.

put a bit of carpet or something on the jack, that'll stop you buggering up your (easily buggered up)watery thin paint

I'm planning to do mine in the next few weeks, even though it's only 3 years old there is some minor peeling of the chassiss powder coating in the usual suspect places, on outiggers at rear of wheel arches etc. Will probably give a good clean and Hammerite/LOTS of waxoyl. I think its one of those jobs where the importance of functionality takes over ascetics (spelling?). Anyway, off to get the 3000M in a state where I can pinch the jack and axle stands from it. Chris (and a Purple Chim 450)

On most cars I always jack up under the suspension mounts in the basis that thye should be able to take any stress? Am I doing it wrong? R

nope, just avoid the outriggers and wishbones, it's a tough chassis and a light car
