I have recently taken on the commitment of my very first Chimaera, a beautiful mica blue 4.0 V8, biscuit interior etc etc. I now need a little bit of advise relating to a problem of wet carpets! It only seems to affect the passenger side of the car. I''ve done the obvious checks, window leaks etc but that doesn''t seem to be the issue. What seems strange is that the side carpeting isn''t damp at all. I have checked under the car and have found what might be the problem. The housing for the battery under the wheel arch is being rubbed by the wheel on full left hand turn lock. Is this a generic problem and does anyone else have any other thoughts or ideas. Not too much bad news though hey, I''m already greatly concerned. Any advise would be gratefully recieved.

Is the car parked with the front higher than the back? When mine was on axle stands with the front slightly higher than the rear the front water channels flowed back in to the cabin instead of outside!

Raceboy, will you be selling your axle stands with your Chimaera, or keep them for the Cerb.

Not sure if this will help, but when my griff is on my drive being washed it used to leak on the drivers floor. I tracked it down to a pop rivet underneath the dashboard. I could see it whilst lying on the floormat and looking up. It almost directly on the underside of where my bonnet hinges. Anyway after extracting myself from a very uncomfortable position, I put some silicone sealant around the rivet and hey presto, no more leaks. have a look up there if you can understand where i mean.

Make sure the battry box bolts are well sealed. If not, water will ingress and fill the footwell. -Manek-
