No no no! Not what you think... It''s the button on my Chimaera''s steering wheel that seems to have packed up. I''ve yanked off the unit and fiddled with the earth wiper wire (it makes contact with the inside of the steering wheel boss to complete the circuit, as far as I can see. I''ve bent it outwards but to no avail. Any thoughts? -Manek-

Use a multimeter to test whether the switch is actually switching, iff so, then attach a couple fo wires to the battery and put them across the horn, amek sure its working, if so buzz the wiring out. I would imagine its more likely that the horn is broken - switches dont break very often, and wiring usually goes intermintent before completely going. good luck. Chris

I'd switch your multimeter to read DC Volts, put it across the terminals of the horn's switch. When the switch is open (not pressed) you should read a voltage. When you press the switch this voltage should drop to zero as the meter is shorted out. No voltage => wiring/horn/fuse up the spout. Meter doesn't get shorted => switch not working (PS re. testing the horn with jumpers from the battery, better make sure you don't accidentally short the battery out. If you can't isolate the horn completely, make sure you've worked out which side of it isn't earthed and only apply the battery's 12V to that side, otherwise expect a firework display!)
