the rubber seal on the left hand side of my targa top has come loose. is there any adhesive recommended to stick this back on, or is it best to get it re-done by a professional?

Personally, I'd take some Evo-Stik or other impact adhesive to it... -Manek-

i got something called liquid plastic from halfords whis is supposed to be slightly flexible when set. may be best to use something which will lock it solid forever like evostick though.

I found superglue quicker to apply and it does a good job, if you squeeze the surfaces together whilst drying it does the trick. I think however what ever glue you use it will come unstuck eventually. Might try a 6" nail next time.

This happens all the time..... Has the rubber seal come out of the groove that holds it in place or is the rubber actually broken? On ours the rubber comes out at the front and back of the roof and can be reinserted into the groove through the judicious use of a teaspoon. (Push one side of the rubber into the metal slot by hand and then crush the other side in with the spoon...start at the point the rubber has come out and work towards the front/back of the roof). A drop of glue then secures it again. Hope this helps....ours does this fairly regularly and we've not failed to fix it yet!

I'm with Don on this, mine are always working themselves out of the groove. There's usually a 2 or 3 inch length on one side or the other popping out. Not found anything yet which permanently puts them in their place - but then neither have TVR it seems.

Seriously, I've had this problem too. The TVR ignition key seems to be engineered to be just the right thickness to fix this. -Manek-

Might be worth checking the closure height of your windows. I noticed that mine were a little high and caught the rubber when closing the door. This is a simple job. There is a screw located below the door seal brushes, roughly in the middle of the door. Give them a few turns with a screwdriver to change the closing height.

I've found sikaflex, or any silicon sealant, a pretty good adhesive
