My wipers have started playing up. When on intermittent or slow they stop every now and then in mid sweep, on fast they are OK. I suspect its the auto park mechanism; maybe its dirty and not providing an adequate contact. Has any one had a similar problem and how easy is it to fix?

Yes and yes. It's probably the best-known problem of all. Rainwater collects on the shelf where the wiper switch sits. It shorts one or more connections, the wipers start doing funny things. Fix: let the switch dry out then coat the area with foam or WD40. -Manek-

Where exactly is the switch?

Open bonnet. Stand on nearside of car near base of windscreen. By your right arm is the wiper switch, sitting on a horizontal shelf next to the wiper motor. -Manek-
