Hi all, I’m a new TVR owner having purchased my 1998 chimaera last week. Just doing a bit of tinkering and replaced the windscreen wipers. Is it normal for the passenger side to protrude comically out past the curved profile of the window glass? I.e only 1/2 of the blade is in contact with glass in parked position. Or is it that the blades are not compatible or the arm is incorrect or needs some alteration. Note the blades are both 16”.

TIA

It's one of those 'they all do that sir' moments. Some reckon the aero type blades are better, but I haven't tried them.

I very rarely use mine in any rain so accept the issue. Some Rainx on the screen helps reduce the juddering when I use the washers to remove dust. frown

I literally just replaced mine, I suppose it might depend on how long they are as on my old car the end stuck out a bit and on this one, the whole blade was in contact. I say was as it was the old fashioned type, they measured 15.5", I replaced them with the more modern ones and half of it is sticking out.... I can only assume on my old car that the blades may have been longer as the ones I just replaced perfect, so I'll go back to the original style ones at the same size. And yes the new ones I bought were the same length too

Thanks, I presumed it was a “Tvr-ism”. I decided to “gently” adjust the shape of the blade to give better contact.

I seem to remember the old metal type being better for the screen curvature and there used to be some available slightly thinner so to speak so they curved a bit more. Cant quite remember where they were from.

I have the type shown in the photo in this thread.
They work pretty well, and don t stand off the screen excessively.
It’s also worth using RainX or similar to help them along.
It’s usually the wiper motor that struggles
