I’ve been searching for anyone that supplies new chimaera roof stays and I came across this old thread:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Apparently a company called qqs manufactured the last ones:

https://www.qqsltd.co.uk/

A tentative enquiry resulted in a response:

“Thanks for reaching out.
We have manufactured these in the past but not for a while and currently don't hold any stock of them. We would happily produce another run on these, but to make setting our machines up on them feasible we would really need to see interest for at least another 3 sets. I am not sure if you are a member of any owners clubs or forums and could potentially put the feelers out to gauge if there are others who would be interested in purchasing a set?

From memory I think they were circa £300.00 for the pair of assembled stays (Polished finish) - I would need to re quote as no doubt material prices have changed since, but they will be there or thereabouts on this figure.

Let me know if you have any further interest in them”

So nothing definite but is anyone interested?

Do you specifically want the alloy ones? Rcmorris makes double jointed ones that actually would be better and likely allow the roof to go lower.

I'd be interested in buying your old ones if they are the alluminium type to restore if you find some new ones or alternatives

Although not shown on the impressive website. Contact him. They are the same as the stays to the Surrey Roof.

Here’s a pic of mine in the wedge - I’ll see if I can take one tomorrow with the roof down

Thank you, they look good.

Mines got a hardtop so don’t worry about trying to get another photo with the roof down - appreciate it though! 👍
