Hi there,
This fitting on my air con compressor is broken. Any idea where I can get replacement? And where would I source a new compressor if needed?
Thanks in advance for your input!
Cheers
Sven

Not much help and on a Griff but may be TVR specific.

Unfortunately the fitting isn’t available anymore, you might need to get an air con fabricator to re weld it, or make you a new fitting.

The compressor is a Sanden TRS105 3204.

thanks for the info, very helpful. I guess after 30 years I will just replace the compressor by a new one and try to find someone reweld the fitting or design something new....

Is there a reason why you need to buy a new compressor? Has it stopped working?

There’s a company on ebay that sells reconditioned compressors, I got mine for less than £100. Might be worth having a look.

thanks for the advice. Actually my AC has never worked for the 11 years I have the car know... Will have the compressor checked first before I look for a new one....

Roof off is the only air con you should ever need.

Not when it’s 35 degrees and driving at slow speed, such as around town. I’ve done many road trips around Europe in my Chimaera without AC, and it can be unbearable at times.
Now I’m installing it!

It’s different if you only use the car in the UK as we rarely get long periods of hot weather.

I will see your 35 degrees and raise you 40 degrees in stop start traffic in Milan for two hours when I stupidly followed the satnav against my better judgement.
Boot full of luggage (I have a wife), so roof on, windows down, heater on hot full blast to try and keep engine temps down.

Yes I can also see why air con could come in handy yes

(Anyone who hasn’t done eurohoons in a Chim has missed out, it is what they were made for)

OP - can you not get a thin metal tube that is a tight fit in both parts where it snapped, to bridge the break and glue it in with Araldite or similar? Maybe run a drill through both halves first to clean it properly.

If there is nothing else wrong it it does seem a bit of a waste to bin the compressor.
