I’m planning an aircon retrofit and want to install a modern evaporator and heater unit as part of the upgrade. This will also involve fitting new ducting, updating the dash controls, and adding heat insulation.

To assist with the planning, I’m looking for clear photos of the shell or body structure with the interior fully removed. Specifically, I’d like to see the area behind the upper and lower dash moldings once they’ve been taken out. Unfortunately, the only photos I’ve found so far are either low quality or from salvage yards.

I’m open to modifying the shell structure, including cutting and reshaping it, to accommodate modern, more effective components. As part of the project, I may also consider altering the dash shape to suit the new setup.

Thanks,
Andrew

Not sure this will help. It is the shell when the car was made back in 2001 at Blackpool.

That photo is helpful for lots of things!
Including finding the famous earth point on the transmission tunnel!

Thank you.

Seeing these photos makes me more hopeful that I can chop away some of the fibreglass to fit a compact AC unit behind the dash, especially if I relocate the radio.
