Not my car so checking before I break something
I can’t remember how to get at the bulb.
I vaguely remember doing this job years ago but need advice.
Am I correct in thinking you need to access the rear section via the rad or wheel arch opening for headlight.
Then disconnect wiring so you can twist the rear section off.
Will the lense come off with it or do I hold lense whilst I unscrew it from the back so the two come apart.
Thanks chaps

In my mk1 the access is from either front grill or through little hatch in the wheel arch.
I didn’t disconnect the wires, just unscrewed the back of the housing, and the bulb mounts into the part you remove.
There is plenty of wire to not worry about over twisting.

Forgive the scrappy nature of this photo.
I took it through the mouth with the grill out, you can see the back of the hatch from the wheel arch, and I’ve highlighted the length of wire to the indicator. The to UNF at the bottom right is the back of the indicator housing.

Thank you very much for the picture.
So if I’m right the lense is bonded to the body and the bulb holder unscrews out and away from it.
I think that’s how I remember it but it must be 12 years since I needed to change a bulb.
Tvr have very reliable bulb holders… and people say the cars are unreliable thumbup

Yes, the back end of the bulb housing unscrews like a big jam jar (might be a bit crusty and stuck so be gentle).
The lens and body are bonded to the mini grill piece which is bonded to the fibreglass.

Thanks again. Your picture prompted my brain and I remember what to do now.

When you say MK2 I presume that you mean the facelift; the 'bible' states access from the front of the car but from underneath (page 276), ie different method than with the earlier cars, and recommends that the horns are unbolted to improve access.

Lenses still held by mastic on the facelift.

It’s the offside one.
My horn is on the n/s
Is that because the mark 1 doesn’t always have the headlight access pods.
I’ll work it out now I remember the lense is bonded in.
Thanks for the info.
