TVR Chimaera boot release solenoid wiring harness route
Discussion
Following the dismemberment of the centre console for my handbrake job plus removal of the dash top to sort a wonky fuel gauge, I find I no longer have connectivity between the under dash boot solenoid button and the solenoid. All other boot functions -- lights and fuel gauge are 100%.
The button tests good and there is power going in to it. The solenoid is also fine. Just wondered if there is any known spot where I am likely to have messed it up ? I believe the wiring in mine is typical, in that there seem to be an awful lot of ad hoc arrangements dotted about.
Unless it's an easy fix, I am minded to move the button, perhaps onto the centre console. Anyone know what route the boot harness takes once it enters the cabin, please ?
Mike.

I reckon you'd get a better response in the Chimaera section:

The wiring goes from the boot behind the fuel filler and over the wheel arch into the area behind the door where the door solenoids are. There are a bunch of connectors in there so a good spray of contact cleaner into each of them would make sense.
Then I *think* the loom runs down the side of the cabin below the door where I guess it emerges around the battery area. I don’t think it crosses over to the centre console or the drivers side but I’m not certain.

This doesn't give you the routing of the wiring in the car, but it does show how simple the circuit is.
I haven't paid attention to it before, but there is a fuse in there that might be worth swapping out too - according to this, fuse no.16 on the fuseboard.
If you still have your manual, you'll be able to identify which is no.16 - but also this diagram. The other things this fuse looks after may not show themselves unless you're driving the car.

Let me know if they are poor quality in the forum, and I can PM you the wonderful diagrams that Steve_D has provided for a few of us.

Me too, but the problem is that I cannot find a 'new topic' button anywhere when I look in the TVR section. Any pointers welcome.
Mike.
Have a feel under the dash next to the steering column. My Griffs had a button or two down there, one of which was the 'new topic' buttonMike.

Many thanks for all the info and suggestions. I will certainly check the fuse, although as I am getting 12v at the push button, I suspect it is OK.
Given the unconventional arrangement for the door latching, I don't understand why they didn't also just do a simple mechanical cable release for the boot, too
