Ok I know there are a number of threads about this already, but I'm still struggling here.

Namely, I can't seem to locate the flipping thing... Most probably I'm being very dumb, but has mine gone walk about !!
Current scenario is the wipers work fine on the constant setting, but park randomly during intermittent use and when turning the wipers to fully stop. The same happened not long after I bought the car 15 odd years ago and Fernies said they changed the switch and its been fine ever since. So where is the bl00dy thing !

Its a 2000 year car so the motor is inside above the drivers knees. When looking up there appears to be one connector from the loom heading to the motor as below.

This connects to the motor as per the next pic.

Thats it... I can't see anything even close to resembling what I believe the switch should like. I've popped off the black cover to check grease levels etc inside and thats all fine, but no switch hiding in there. Or am I being blind ??

I've also checked the main 20A fuse on the board above the battery and that is fine plus I have working brake lights.

Similar issues on my Griff is always a loose relay. Just a thought.

Pry the whole top of the motor off. A@

P.S, it is not possible to replace the switch ...

Ah didn't actually look at relays, just fuses. Will have a check.

Yeah thats what mine looked like when I took the cover, no switch just loads of grease.

Thanks chaps.

I'm guessing that is the park switch assembly in the end and the grease isn't much help to its operation!

Standard set up is greased to excess, if you look at the inner dark ring (the darkness is caused by the contacts abrading the surface where the contacts have been running), there is a 8mm gap in the ring and that is the park position/location. Ensure that the contacts are running on the face of the gear by gentle lifting them and replace as was. A@

Not sure if this is helpful, a friend on here (Steve Sprint) told me his wiper relay used to work loose on his early Griff.
First solution was blue tac to hold it in, but eventually replaced and it seems to stay in place now.

Make me wonder whether you can get to the female part of the connection (might require getting to the back of the fuse board - ouch), and squeeze the female spade connector a little tighter?

This was the old (now kept as spare) relay he showed me

In my case, on a '95 Chim, the wiper motor is in the engine bay, and I've now ordered my third park switch because they seem to catch a lot of rain water and die inside!
