I don't think anything 'pops' the doors. When the solenoid operates (one on each side), it only unlocks the doors. If the door is released, only the slight spring pressure of the door pressing against the rubber weather trim / seal causes it to open slightly.
It may be possible this happens on later models (haven't had a later model since 2017....) with the release button on the door mirrors but on earlier ones, only pressing the large round plated button opens the doors.

The later cars have solenoids that operate the latch to allow the door to pop open.
AFAIK the locking mechanism just disables the current to the solenoids.
I think the earlier cars with the big buttons on the flanks use a mechanical release mechanism the same as the internal release button on the centre console.

My year 2000 has 2 solenoids per door. One to lock and one to open
One of them has 5 wires and one with 2
The boot has an additional solenoid can’t remember if 2 or 5 wires.
I believe that the 5 wire option can be used anywhere.
I think they are Ford parts
I stand correcte. Thanks WOOSIE! One of them has 5 wires and one with 2
