Hi, I’m looking to remove the spark plug extenders from my 94 4.3, is it right I will need different spark plugs? If so can anyone recommend any? Also heat sleeve/ socks? Thanks

Hi, the plugs are the same. You need to fiddle a bit with plug caps, some are best straight and others angled. I can take a detailed look tomorrow. It is quite easy to get the plug caps on and out of the way of the manifold. The socks are readily available, in various colours. E bay.

I made my own leads, you can buy the ends and lead by the meter. Kits are all the wrong length, either that or I am fussy! You can also change the ends on your existing leads, it is stupidly simple.

I added extra plug support on both rocker covers. The plastic bit is also on eBay, there is a hole there for it in the rocker covers, takes a self tapper.

Photo of my bay, from my stock photos! Will get better tomorrow.

making your own is a good idea as you can keep spares around in times of need, the intial outlay is a bit expensive as you have to buy a crimping tool.
making them is easy really once you have done one.
I do think the American leads are better quality and have more durable plug ends but not many stock them, maybe have a look what real steal have in stock.
Accel and msd are two that are very high quality.
Plugs wise i switched to Ngk Bpr6es when removing the extenders which a lot of people use.

Hi, see photos.

Will put more on in a sec. The leads have a right way and a wrong way. The leads should lie as it says in this diagram.

Looks like 4,6 and 8 are angled, (135 degrees) and 2 is straight.

I can be certain but I think 1,3,5 all straight. 7 is angled.

The crimp tool is part of any wire strip pliers, so you may have one.

The guide for the rocker covers is Land Rover.

Best
