Just a positive comment on RainSport 5’s (recently back in stock in both 15’s and 16’s) Admittedly they replaced c12 year old Bridgestones but I’m delighted with the more subtle ride, way less crashy over our lovely B roads.

Haven’t really pushed on yet as only have 30 or so miles on them, the first mile or so was ‘interesting’ but after that I have to say the feel great.

Any advice on tyre pressures?

I kept my Rainsports at the standard 22F 24R. They seem ok at that.

You should always check pressures after having new tyres fitted. Some tyre shops just seem to stick in whatever pressure was required for the tyre to pop onto the rim and leave it at that.

Also worth checking the torque on the wheelnuts because a lot don't do that right either.

Some guys do it to help seal the tyre against the rim and prevent slow puncture type symptoms or in this case probably had no idea what pressures a Tvr run at.

Or just tell them the pressure you want them at, works for me.

For those contemplating using 17 inch wheels to suit bigger brake calipers, one of the joys I have found using Rainsports is that the slightly softer sidewall compensates nicely for the change in sidewall height from 55 profile to 45 profile - this is needed to keep the overall diameter of the tyre the same as the standard (smaller) wheels.
I have never felt that my car was anything other than compliant and comfortable on them.
