The heater fan on my 96 Chimarea has stopped working and i'm told by the machanic that we need a new hearer control unit (part number ME0227).....but I'm struggling to find one. Does anyone know of anywhere that I might be able to find one as I've searched most of the online suppliers and haven't had any luck as yet. I've found a refurbishment service (https://motaclan.com/index.php/product/control-unit-heater-chimaera-reconditioned_tvrme0227r_3038_0) which could be an option if I can't find a replacement part. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks.!

Thanks. It looks like a repair is the most readilly available option.

Try north east sports salvage to see if they've got a decent one?

North East Sports Salvage on Facebook, just advertised a recently rebuilt Chim that appears to have been written off. Doesn't mean this part is new, but good chance it's working.

Mine was repaired by Paul Smith about 10 years ago - been fine ever since.
The terminals burn out, under the big multi plug on the end of the box..
It is also possible for your heater fan to need replacing.
But look for a burnt terminal on the outside of the control box first, as that fault is far more common.

The heater control box is behind the heater controls under the dash top, close to the windscreen - easy enough to undo the passenger side nuts and have a look.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m no mechanic, but I’m informed it’s the switch so the specialist that I use over here (I’m in Canada which adds a whole new set of challenges with TVR ownership) is in the process of modifying it to fix the problem and get it working again. Will let you know how it works out.

I've not looked into it's purpose but could it be removed in favour of going back to an old fashioned switch only?
Obviously a little wiring alteration would be needed.
