I''m thinking of upgrading my upside down Fiesta rear lights with the later round jobbies. I know the main dealers offer this service (£500 or so) but I think this is a bit expensive. Anybody know of any DIY kits either original TVR or after market upgrades? Cheers, Nick.

Hi Peninsula's website actually has only one "a" in it - try: www.peninsulauto.co.uk The section you need is on the "Upgrades" page and the lights cost £375 I think. Also the phone number is actually 01884 35341 (the *61 number is for fax) Sorry to be picky! Cheers Marco

Spoke to Neil at Peninsula yesterday. They can supply the rear lights in kit form for £194-12 + VAT. Only (reasonably) difficult bit is gettting the back panels sprayed the same colour as the vehicle. however, colour match shouldn't be too difficult as the panels are hidden behind the smoked rear lenses. Cheers, Nick.

How are they fitted into the surround?

From what I can gather, the new panel has the same foot print / fixings as the existing Fiesta light and therefore is a direct replacement. The new round lights and reflectors simply affix to the new panel (once its been painted). I might be wrong though. Nick.

Shouldn't cost too much to get them sprayed to match the rest of the paint work. A local sprayer should be able to do it very cheaply.

We have a brand new rear light conversion that fits the Cerbera, Chimaera and Griffith (different moldings, same lights). This uses the new 55mm lamps as seen on the last of the Griffiths and 90mm LED ring tail lights. they are designed for ease of fitting, securing in the same place as the old Fiesta units (Cebera/Chimaera) and flush into the opening on the Griffith. The lamp arrangement is symmetrical, i.e., a fog and reverse light on each side. The pods are produced in black gel-coat so no painting is needed (Griffith should be painted). Note that on all Chimaeras and Cerberas with Fiesta lights the area inside the plastic cover is black, not body coloured. The image on Penninsula's website may lead you to believe that you can just have their kit painted and put in then it will look like that. Not so, a considerable amount of fitting followed by painting in-situ would be needed for that effect. The price for our kit is 255.28+vat. Pictures should be available soon.
