HI Im putting a 1996 Chimaera back together. I bought it part done just before Christmas. Having not took it to bits it is sometimes a bit tricky to put things back as they were. Has anybody fixed the lower dash/radio panel back on. It is perfect but has no fixing clips or screws. Do you drill and fit it with screws or glue it? Is the 3 red buttons on right the headlights and the red on the left Hazard switch? Also is it really a nightmare to fit the washer pipe back on to the wipers and back to washer bottle?? Thanks EDD
I used carbon effect wrap on my last Chimaera 4 years ago.
You have the lamp buttons correct, the hazard is on the left. On the other side, in order from the driver's side, right to left, the buttons are sidelamps (with warning light), dipped beam (no extra lamp), rear fog lamp.
There are two thin vertical GRP pieces on the car that the panel screws onto (you can just about see them in my photo), it looks like one of yours on the car may be broken.
The panels with the buttons on are held to onto the lower dash panel with a couple of small brackets that are glued to the metal back. It's a bit of a Heath Robinson affair really, can't find any photos I'm afraid. I ended up using a layer of glue high enough to make it a tightish fit.

On the later cars, the switch to the left of the steering column is a latching on/ off pushbutton that turns the instrument backlights off when the side/ headlights are on. A bit like the SAAB 'Night Panel' feature, except that in the TVR it turns off the backlight to the speedo too...
I assume that it's the same on the earlier cars. Not one of the more useful controls in my view.
