Yes, known problem, starter motor gets too hot. Lots of info on this site and the Yahoo groups TVRCC email list.

It seems that most TVR problems can be cured by waiting a few minutes. I think I'd leave the bonnet closed and have another soda instead to avoid the embarassment though. Trefor/.

To prevent this why not just fit some heat shielding to the cabling and starter/or heat-wrap the manifolds in the vicinity - would be cheaper. This works on Wedges. Demon Tweeks do all sorts of mail order heat shielding and will send you a free catalogue if you ask.

Mine has only done it a couple of times so I'm not to bothered about it. However I am able to get it going by holding the ignition key in the 'start' position for a couple of minutes and it eventually turns over. May be worth a try if it happens again. Graham
