Im about to remove my fuel sender (as the gauge only reads when the tank is half empty, otherwise its zero) - anyway, i want to make sure i have the correct sealant before i start the job - does anyone know if its a special gasket of just silcone sealant or ????
thanks

There is a section on this in Peter Beech's Chimaera/Griffith workshop notes which you will find on the TVR web-ring.I have it under favourites the address is - http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Peter_Beech/TVR/Index.htm
seen them, but couldnt see anywahere where is stated what the seal was - all he says is " remove the sender", says how to fix it, then says "refit it" !!!
anyone know if its a gasket or ????

I think there is a cork gasket. I've always reused it with out any problems.

"I've always reused it" - Er, how many times have you changed the sender?
Trefor/. (still on first sender)
Interesting thing happened last night - whilst the fuel gauge was on 0 (not working), suddenly the LED started to flicker - running out of fuel, which tied in with the mileage id done since last fill up - now correct me if im wrong, but surely only one signal goes to the fuel gauge, if the low fuel light was still able to function, surely the sender is working and its actually the gauge that screwed ????
cheers

Er, what LED? I didn't know there was one.
Got a little yellow LED just above the red part of the fuel reading - lights up when the needle gets onto Red - only my needle isnt working - but the light still is ????
Anyone know how to change the gauge?? - its going to mean taking the dashtop off isnt it???
cheers
Chris
Hmm, must be a newer model (mine's a '95).
thanks very much - if it does indeed turn out to be the sender, i shall order a rubber one from Tema central.
