What track rod ends are fitted to Chimaera's?
Discussion

Sorry to gatecrash, but I also need a rack gaitor kit, is there an alternative part number for these?

Hi Zed4. No worries about gate-crashing and thanks for your reply and the link. Opened the link and put in "TVR, Chimaera, 1998, 4.0 litre" in their drop down boxes and the site said the track rod ends were not compatible so not quite sure who's right and who's wrong here!!! Just thought I'd flag this up with you. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRACK-ROD-END-PAIR-for-F...

I just like to say there has been no genuine tvr track rod end, it is and always has been a ford part, as a lot of the parts on TVRs are, pulled from various manufacture's parts bins.PRTVR said:

True but you get the correct parts from these guys, worth supporting IMHO.
+1I have always felt that supporting the specialists will pay dividends in the end.
Not least of which, the suppliers like these (Racetech and Powers and others) stock the obscure stuff as well as the easy to acquire, and supporting them will help ensure they stay around for a long time to come.
IMO saving £3.00 today could cost us the ability to maintain our cars tomorrow.
I pay the 'TVR tax' because I thinks it's common sense.
Also, my box of receipts is full of invoices with little TVR logos; is yours?

if I was buying another car I would prefer to buy from the likes of quinny, spend or any of the knowledgeable people on this site, rather than a pile of invoices, but we are all different and I can part understand the point of keeping so parts dealers going if they source new parts that have gone out of production.
But what if I can get a pair of QH track rod ends from my local motor factor, or eBay for £10 a pair and the specialist is charging me nearly £35! It's hardly fair and it's probably the same part that they sourced from their local motor factor. I like to support my local independent motor factor. The last track rod end I bought for my Clio was £6!
Of course it's a different story if the cheaper parts are indeed inferior, but are they really? Or do they all come from the same factory?!
