Charging Battery

I want to keep my battery on my new chimp charged when i am not using it, its a 96 p plate 4l, can i plug the battery charger into the cigarete lighter to do this.. thanks James

Yes, but it will only take something like 7 Amps so you will need to be on a low (trickle) setting.

TVRCC sell an optimate charger for about £45 which trickle charges the battery through the lighter socket. Works for me. Make sure your battery is in good condition before you start (i.e. full of water and not shagged). T/.

Anyone considered a solar powered battery charger (should work providing the car is not parked in a windowless garage). Not that expensive now, around £30 should get you a 1.5w model
